Unshakeable Hope In Uncertain Times
Dear Friend,
In a world that often feels shaken, we all need a reminder of God's unshakable faithfulness. As I reflect on the journey that led to my new book, "Promised Hope: Finding Peace in God's Faithfulness," I'm drawn again to the powerful words of Psalm 62:5-8:
"Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge."
These verses beautifully capture the essence of our Promised Hope. They speak of Adonai, our sovereign Lord, and Yahweh, the eternal, self-existent God. They point us to Jesus, our Living Hope, and our unshakable Rock.
Today, I invite you to pause and consider: Where in your life do you need to be anchored in this Promised Hope?
Perhaps you're facing health challenges, like my husband Troy and I have. Or maybe you're navigating uncertain waters in your career, relationships, or faith journey. Our world feels shaken right now, but we can rest in knowing that God holds all things together. He holds you, dear friend, in His capable hands. Whatever your circumstances, remember this: our hope isn't based on shifting sands but on the unchanging character of Jesus, our Promised Hope.
In "Promised Hope," we explore these names of God, each one revealing a facet of His faithfulness. Adonai, our Master who cares for us. Yahweh, the great I AM who is ever-present. Jesus, our Living Hope who conquered death and our Rock who stands firm through every storm. Those are just a few names; we will look at others, too.
As you go about your day, I encourage you to hold onto this truth: You cannot be shaken because your hope is in Christ. Let His peace be your fortress, His strength your rock, and His love your constant refuge.
Prayer: Adonai, our Lord, we rest in You today. Yahweh, our eternal God, we trust in Your unchanging nature. Jesus, our Living Hope, and Rock, anchor us in Your love. Thank You for being our refuge in every season. Help us pour out our hearts to You, knowing You are our unshakable hope. Amen.
